India - Auckland

On arrival in Auckland, ‘The City of Sails’, seat in coach passengers will be met by our local representative and privately transferred to your hotel. Self drive passengers will collect your rental car at the airport and drive to your hotel. Auckland, based around 2 large harbours, is a major city in the north of New Zealand’s North Island. In the centre, the iconic Sky Tower has views of Viaduct Harbour, which is full of superyachts and lined with bars and cafes. Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park, is based around an extinct volcano and home to the formal Wintergardens. Near Downtown, Mission Bay Beach has a seaside promenade. Auckland – Waitomo - Rotorua

After early morning breakfast, travel south through the fertile Waikato region to arrive at Waitomo. Enjoy a guided tour of the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Descend underground into the limestone caverns to view stunning stalactites formed over centuries. Drift along the Waitomo River during a short boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto, where a breathtaking display of tiny illuminated lights glow in the darkness. Discover the mystery behind the luminescence of thousands of glowworms. On completion continue over the Mamaku Ranges to reach the ‘Thermal City’ of Rotorua. Overnight stay at hotel in Rotorua.

Rotorua - Napier

This morning visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve to see boiling mudpools and roaring geysers. Following this, visit Rainbow Springs to see New Zealand’s trout, birds and wildlife before continuing to the Agrodome for a New Zealand farm show featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to the stars of our sheep industry. Depart Rotorua and travel south via the Wairakei Geothermal area to arrive at New Zealand’s largest lake, Lake Taupo. Continue over rugged mountain ranges and well cultivated farmland to arrive in the ‘Art Deco’ City of Napier. Overnight stay at hotel in Napier.

Napier - Wellington

Travel through the Manawatu Gorge to Palmerston North, travelling down the Kapiti Coast to arrive in the ‘Capital City’ of Wellington. Wellington, a compact city, it encompasses a waterfront promenade, sandy beaches, a working harbour and colourful timber houses on surrounding hills. From Lambton Quay, the iconic red Wellington Cable Car heads to the Wellington Botanic Gardens. Strong winds through the Cook Strait give it the nickname 'Windy Wellington'. Wellington - Christchurch

Journey across Cook Strait, which separates the North and South Islands of New Zealand and into the Marlborough Sounds with its sparkling clear waters and lush forests, before arriving in Picton. Travel south through Blenheim and Kaikoura to reach the ‘Garden City’ of Christchurch. Bordered by hills and the Pacific Ocean, it is situated on the edge of the Canterbury Plains that stretch to the Southern Alps. The city promises an eclectic mix of historic elegance and contemporary culture. The city has bounced back after the Canterbury Earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 with innovative new attractions, as well as some old favourites. Overnight stay at hotel.

Christchurch – Mt Cook - Dunedin

On a scenic journey to Mount Cook village, travel through Otago farmland via the Canterbury Plains before heading inland over Burkes Pass for a breathtaking vista as you head toward Lake Tekapo. Stop here to explore the Church of the Good Shepherd, which stands on the remote shoreline of these glacial waters. Your driver takes you up the western edge of Lake Pukaki, situated at the base of 12,217-foot (3,724-meter) Aoraki/Mount Cook, the highest peak in New Zealand. On arrival in Mount Cook Village, enjoy an optional three-course buffet lunch at the Hermitage Hotel. Leaving Mt Cook, travel through the historic Victorian precinct of Oamaru and the Waitaki Valley before continuing cross country to the Scottish influenced city of Dunedin. Overnight stay at hotel.

Dunedin – Queenstown

After breakfast, morning is free for optional activities. Leaving Dunedin, travel through South Otago, through Balclutha and Gore and across the fertile Southland Plains to Lake Te Anau. Continue around the southern arm of Lake Wakatipu to reach Queenstown. Queenstown sits on the shores of the South Island’s Lake Wakatipu, set against the dramatic Southern Alps. A free day to explore the endless optional attractions available. Queenstown offers bungy jumping, jetboating, white water rafting, gondola rides, sky dive and much more. Queenstown – Glacier Region

Journey past Lakes Wanaka and Hawea before turning into the Haast Past and the World Heritage Westland National Park. Continue north to arrive in Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers. Glacier Region – Greymouth – Christchurch

Travel north to Greymouth and board the world famous Tranz Alpine train (seat in coach passengers only). Making its way from one coast of New Zealand to the other, from the Pacific Ocean to the Tasman Sea, the train crosses the broad expanse of the Canterbury Plains to climb the Alps via a series of four viaducts and 19 tunnels known as the Staircase. The train journey reveals a stunning sequence of valleys, mountains and Southern Alps, including river valleys covered in beech rainforests, sky-mirrored lakes and snowcapped peaks.
